General Description: Provides specialist and administrative services to support the operations of an organization, such as operational support and planning, procurement and supply chain activities, research and analysis to support operations, manage projects or defined government programs, manage risk and provide consultation services.
Operational Support (Administration and Clerical) - provides administrative and clerical support, including planning organizing, directing and coordinating administrative services.
Procurement and Supply Chain - responsible for procurement, supply chain and category management functions.
Analyst - performs detailed research and analysis of information, policies and reports leading to forecasting and recommendations for decision making (e.g. policy, legislation, programs).
Program Management - responsible for managing a program with a set of activities, operations or systems managed together to achieve an outcome for a client or a group of people.
Project Management - responsible for initiating and closing a project within an allotted time frame.
Consultation - responsible for conducting consultations with First Nations, Metis and/or other Indigenous communities, stakeholders, federal, provincial and other jurisdictions.
Program Evaluation
General Description: Performs financial and accounting functions.
Financial Management - finance and accounting operations, financial planning and budgeting, analysis, accounting standards, interpretation and accounting systems.
Transactional Accounting and Processing - accounts payable/receivable, credit collections, payroll, reconciliation of accounts and records, general ledger transactions, revenue accounting, compliance with policies, legislation, standards.
Tax - calculation of tax liabilities, research analysis and interpretation for purposes of tax compliance.
Treasury - responsible for management, administration and providing advice on cash resources, borrowing, programs, investment and debt management.
Audit - internal and consulting services, auditing, examining, evaluating and reporting on financial and operational managerial systems and processes for compliance.
Trust and Estates - general trust and estate management, trust operations.
General Description: Provides advice, guidance and interpretation of human resource policy, as well as planning, administering and reviewing recruitment activities. Engages in internal workforce development, payroll, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion and employee/labour relations.
Human Resource Generalists - performs work across multiple human resource functions, including employee/labour relations. Consults and strategizes on staffing and recruiting, training and development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), supportive employment and/or disability case management.
Compensation - oversees or administers compensation programs and job evaluations.
Employee/Labour Relations - responsible for managing interactions and relationships with employees and labour unions, leading negotiations in collective bargaining, investigations and resolving complaints, grievances and disputes.
HR Planning and Organizational Development - responsible for organizational design analysis, leadership and succession planning, performance management systems, employee engagement and/or workforce planning.
Payroll and Benefits - ensures that employees are paid accurately and on time, calculating overtime and shift premiums, maintaining payroll records, ensuring payments comply with collective bargaining agreements, legislation and/or regulations.
General Description: Conducts both internal and external communications. Perform duties such as managing relationships with the public and stakeholders; identifying, collecting and sharing information and knowledge; designing and creating publications, social media and websites; performing translation services for official languages.
Communication and Creative Design Generalists - responsible for communication activities, developing and creating content, producing written material, electronic, on-line and visual communication for all audiences; includes marketing, public relations, and program promotion.
Translation Services - responsible for translation and interpretation services in both official languages (French and English).
Media/Communications Creative and Design - responsible for design and creation of media publications and materials for user-facing components (interface) or interactive media such as social media and websites. Activities include computer-generated graphic design for communication materials, photography, videography, digital editing, proof reading/editing, text layout for publications, and designing user-friendly websites.
General Description: Provides legal services and advice, intelligence gathering and analysis, investigations, inspections, compliance and enforcement, sheriff services, conciliation and mediation services, operational support to courts and judiciary. Analyzes and gathers evidence, perform inspections as well as compliance and enforcement activities.
Investigation, Inspections, Compliance and Intelligence - responsible for functions related to intelligence gathering and analysis, inspection, compliance and enforcement of acts, regulations, policies and procedures.
Legal - responsible for providing legal services and advice, researching, analyzing and interpretation of proposed and existing laws, statutes and regulations. Identifies and monitors issues of legal risk. Structures, drafts negotiations and/or approves legal contracts.
Conciliation, Mediation and Hearing Officers - responsible for quasi-judicial public hearings, reviewing evidence and witness statements and issuing binding orders and agreements.
Sheriff's Operations - responsible for courtroom security, prisoner transport, civil enforcement and jury management.
Court and Legal Support - responsible for providing para-professional and other specialized operation support to legal services, courts and judiciary.
Corrections - responsible for correctional operations related to the safety and protection of the public, staff, inmates and the institution; case management services; safe reintegration of offenders; and functional supervision of activities.
General Description: Performs tasks related to engineering, sciences, and related positons in an office, laboratory or field.
Engineering - primary work is dedicated to the practice of professional engineering, including planning designing, composing, measuring, evaluating, inspecting, advising and reporting; or supervising/managing any of these functions.
Engineering Technical Professionals - responsible for performing para-professional engineering work, without the formal education requirements of a certified engineer.
Sciences - responsible for scientific research and development in a scientific field, such as biology, chemistry, geology, agrology, forestry, etc. Work includes collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting scientific data, and/or implementing and evaluating scientific assignments.
Science Research and Laboratory Services - responsible for managing or performing work in some/all of the following areas: assisting scientists and engineers in a laboratory environment (e.g. quantitative and qualitative chemical or biological analyses, collecting samples and conducting tests, planning and setting controlled research experiments and trials, recording observations etc.), and supporting the operation of the laboratory environment, such as set up configuration, installation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Technical Support - responsible for managing or performing work supporting science or technical professionals. Activities are performed in an office, laboratory or in the field.
General Description: Coordinates, integrates and administers such functions as managing and planning facilities and assets; maintaining and repairing buildings, facilities and grounds; and ensuring safety for staff, clients and property. This includes designing facilities, interior spaces and grounds.
Facilities Management and Planning - responsible for the management, operation or maintenance of facilities. Key activities vary but may include operations, maintenance, human resource management, client relations, budget management and administration.
Facilities/Grounds, Custodial, Cleaning and Laundry - responsible for maintaining facilities and grounds in clean and orderly condition. Activities include, cleaning, sanitation of facilities, including custodial work, infection, prevention/control, dishwashing and laundry services.
Property, Facilities and Asset Security - responsible for the safety and security of employees, clients, visitors and property. Activities include loss/theft prevention and assessments; security/technical design, consultation and planning; escorting and controlling exit/entry; monitoring, dispatching and physical response.
Facilities Design and Architecture - responsible for planning and designing the construction or renovation of facilities, interior spaces and or grounds.
General Description: Performs skilled and semi-skilled trades including construction, maintenance and repair; operates machines, equipment and vehicles and performs general labour duties.
Construction, Maintenance and Repair Trades - responsible for apprentice work for the construction, maintenance and repair of assets such as infrastructure, facilities systems, buildings and equipment. This includes machinists and roles that service and repair light and heavy-duty motor vehicles and their parts.
Equipment and Machine Operation - responsible for operating equipment (e.g. heavy duty, light duty and machines).
General Labour - requires job-specific training to perform general physical labour work and preventative maintenance and repair of tools and equipment.
General Description: Performs work associated with information technology solutions, including data, systems, services, networks, infrastructure and any associated planning, strategy or design.
IT Operations - responsible for day-to-day operational activities associated with implementing and supporting solutions, services and networks.
IT Planning and Design - responsible for systems analysis, design and development of solutions and architecture.
IT Security, Risk and Compliance - responsible for consultation services regarding protection of IT assets (e.g. applications, solutions, infrastructure, networks and information).
IT Business Management - responsible for IT strategy development, process development, policy analysis, development and value management services.
IT Innovation Research and Outreach - responsible for trend analysis, incubation projects, research of emerging technologies and collaboration with other jurisdictions, post-secondary institutions and industry groups to further IT innovations, service partnerships, mentorships and training opportunities.
General Description: Develops and executes architecture and governance of policies, standards, practices and procedures in order to manage the information lifecycle needs of the organization; analyzes and interprets data, identifies trends, writes reports and recommendations for internal and external clients.
Data Analytics and Business Intelligence - responsible for performing complex data research and analysis, including creating data mining architecture/models/protocols, statistical reporting and using data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large-scale data sets. This includes researching and applying knowledge of existing and emerging data science to make decisions.
Internal Data Engineering and Management - responsible for performing work in any of these areas: database engineering and data modelling; creating data architectures and logical/physical data models for databases and data repositories; designing and developing quality control; implementing and maintaining a data repository to integrate data from various sources/systems within an organization.
General Description: Conducts functions related to the use and/or development of real and personal property, including appraisal, analysis, assessment, and disposition. Negotiates and administers real estate contracts, paralegal functions and property management.
Real Estate and Land Management - responsible for providing appraisal analysis and assessment services related to real and person property valuation for real estate and tax purposes. This includes asset and portfolio management through disposition, acquisition or expropriation of real property and their related negotiations.
Land Planning - responsible for providing services related to land development, planning and use.
Real Estate and Land Administration - responsible for the administration of commitments and real estate contracts and the preparation of related instruments, financial recapitalization and other real estate documents. This includes paralegal functions and liaising with the public, internal and external stakeholders.
Real Estate and Property Management - responsible for property management or administration of commercial, industrial and/or residential real estate. This includes leasing/marketing, liaising between landlord and tenant and coordinating responses to issue and accept rent.
General Description: Provides both regulated (i.e. licensed/registered) and non-regulated health services and support, including consultation, coordination and supervision. This includes veterinary services and support. Performs social services duties, including support for families, groups and communities.
Health Services - includes positions that require membership to a regulated health profession. Responsible for the delivery of health services or provides scientific, research, investigative and/or administrative services. Regulated professionals include, doctors, occupational therapists, veterinarians, medical laboratory technologists and dieticians.
Nursing - responsible for the delivery of quality care that includes examination and assessment of patients, treatment planning and administration of prescribed medicine.
Health Support - includes non-regulated support providers working alongside other health service providers. Responsible for implementing or assisting with specific health related therapeutic and/or rehabilitative interventions developed by senior personnel. Provides clients with supervision, guidance and assistance with personal care, comfort and support in daily living, transportation and recreational activities.
Social Services - manages, administers and delivers social services (e.g. psychosocial addictions, mental health, financial, spiritual or behavioural). Monitors compliance of conditions and provides counselling to individuals, families, groups and communities in an effort to enhance social functioning and overall well-being.
Social Sciences - conducts research for academic or consulting purposes in a social science field, such as sociology, psychology, political science, economics, etc. Work includes collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting social science data.
General Description: Provides administrative and consultative services for the general public in the areas of library services, anthropology, architecture, conservation, museology, history, archival services, arts or sports.
Library Services - responsible for collecting, distributing and cataloguing information from a wide variety of sources. This includes collection, development, the maintenance of serials and online databases, digital and media services, research to respond to general inquiries, as well as promoting and developing library services.
Cultural and Heritage Resources - responsible for the management of arts, heritage and sports resources in one or several of the following areas: anthropology, architecture, conservation, museology, history, archival, film, publishing and multicultural resources, as well as assessment of heritage, sports and arts resources.
General Description: Identifies, consults and works with individuals, communities, businesses and industries to promote and build community, economic and workforce capacity.
Community and Economic Development - responsible for identifying, consulting, supporting, developing and implementing community business and economic growth opportunities.
Workforce Development - consults with individuals and various stakeholders to promote workforce development. This includes conducting assessments, providing referrals and advising individuals to identify goals and opportunities for future employment opportunities.
General Description: Provides education, professional development training or related consultative, advisory and/or administrative services.
Education, Professional Development and Training - responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating education, professional development or training. Activities include analyzing training needs; developing programs; developing curricula, training materials and programs; and procuring external services.
Education Administration - provides consultative, advisory and/or administrative services to teachers, counsellors, schools, school divisions, post-secondary institutions and/or professional development service providers.
General Description: Performs air and marine operational duties for the transportation of passengers, freight or equipment in compliance with federal/provincial legislation.
Pilot - operates aircrafts for the transportation of passengers, freight and/or equipment.
Marine Operations - responsible for marine operations that include operating motor vessels and cable ferries, crew management planning and administration of marine operations.
