The purpose of the Workplace Child Care Start-Up Grant (WCSG) is to support workplaces in developing new, on-site child care services for children of their employees through a one-time start-up grant. Ongoing operating expenses would be offset by employer contributions and/or parent fees.
WCSG funding may be used to help offset the wages of staff directly involved in the operation and/or administration of child care services, to purchase equipment required for those services, or to support renovations required to ensure dedicated spaces meet regulatory and/or licensing requirements. Marketing and promotional activities are not eligible.
The amount of grant funding received depends on the business plan submitted with a WCSG application form. Eligible applicants opening child care or child-minding services will receive a one-time grant of $5K per full-time equivalent space as per the capacity indicated in their business plan, subject to the availability of government funding.
To be eligible, you must submit a draft business plan outline, which at a minimum should include the items listed under the Declarations Section below.
Please attach a business plan in .jpg/.jpeg format below. If you need to submit your business plan in a different format, please email it to CCGF@gov.mb.ca
